Sustainability at Altinco: A Comprehensive Commitment
For Altinco, sustainability is not just a part of our products; it is the cornerstone of our daily operations and long-term vision. Since our beginnings, we have been committed to supporting productive agriculture that respects both the environment and people. We firmly believe that respect for nature and agricultural productivity go hand in hand.
Our mission is focused not only on providing natural, residue-free agronomic solutions but also on creating a positive global impact. By caring for the planet, we help ensure a prosperous future for both people and nature.
Our Key Commitments
1. Energy: Commitment to Renewable Sources
A key part of our sustainability policy is our dedication to using renewable energy. All the energy we consume comes from 100% renewable sources, certified by the National Commission on Markets and Competition (CNMC). Additionally, we have installed solar panels at our facilities to further reduce our carbon footprint, moving us toward cleaner and more efficient operations.
2. Packaging: Reducing Plastic Waste
In collaboration with the FEMAC cluster, we have introduced more sustainable packaging in our product line, utilizing containers made with 50% recycled plastic. This step toward reducing plastic waste is just the beginning of our efforts to minimize the environmental impact of our products and packaging.
3. Water: Recovery and Efficiency
Water is one of our most valuable resources, which is why we have invested in systems that allow us to recover 80% of the water used in cleaning our equipment. This initiative not only reduces water consumption but also optimizes our processes. We continue to explore ways to further improve our water-use efficiency.
4. Waste: Reuse and Education
We understand that education is essential for achieving long-term sustainable impact. That’s why we participate in the AEVAE waste collection initiative and offer training programs for our customers on the importance of reuse and recycling. We believe that involving our partners and customers is key to building a more sustainable value chain.
Transparency and Continuous Improvement
Transparency is one of the core principles of our sustainability policy. Each year, we publish our Environmental Statement, where we audit and assess our environmental impact in accordance with EMAS and ISO 14.001 standards. This process allows us to rigorously track our progress and helps us identify areas for improvement.
To ensure we stay on course, we have implemented indicators that measure our energy consumption, water footprint, and carbon footprint. These metrics are essential for refining our strategies and minimizing our environmental impact over time.
Beyond Products: A Sustainable Future
At Altinco, we are confident that sustainable agriculture is not only possible but essential to securing a productive and planet-friendly future. The heart of our vision lies in the belief that sustainability and productivity are interconnected. Taking care of the planet is not just a responsibility; it is also an investment in a fertile future for generations to come.
We understand that the actions we take today will make a difference tomorrow. That’s why we continue to drive innovative projects aimed at reducing our environmental impact while improving the lives of the people and communities we work with. We believe that a healthy natural environment is crucial not only for agricultural production but also for the quality of life of those who depend on agriculture.
