Sustainability
At Altinco, sustainability goes beyond products. It guides our business policy.
A collaborative journey for a better future
Since our founding, Altinco has embraced a sustainability policy that has shaped the company’s actions. Respect for the environment and awareness of its impact on society and the local community have guided many of the initiatives we have undertaken, such as collaborations with local organizations and support for foundations that contribute to environmental preservation and disadvantaged groups.
All actions at Altinco that may have an environmental effect are documented and audited annually according to EMAS and ISO 14.001 standards. You can review them by downloading the Environmental Declaration we publish each year.
As care for the environment is essential to our process, we have a dedicated sustainability
department that establishes clear and consistent guidelines.
Our environmental indicators are key pillars of our commitment to sustainability.
Here are the areas we quantify:
We are committed to renewable energy
100% of the energy we consume comes from renewable sources and is supplied by providers certified by the National Commission on Markets and Competition.
Recycling and reuse of drums
We recycle and re-use We have introduced 20 litre drums produced from 50% recycled plastic. We are also part of the FEMAC cluster project to innovate new sustainable packaging.
We recover water
We have invested in systems that recover 80% of the water used in equipment cleaning. We have implemented an action plan to further reduce our water consumption.
Collection point and training
We are founding members of AEVAE and a collection point for containers. We provide training to make waste collection more efficient.
We support local organizations
We partner with local associations to promote sustainable initiatives. We collaborate with Amics de l’Arbre, Aspid, Fundación Adecco, Afanoc, and Associació Alba.

Process and product certifications:
Altinco’s RD and Innovation Management System, applied to the areas of project development for zero-residue and organic agricultural products, is certified in accordance with the requirements of the UNE 166002:2021 standard.
Altinco’s Quality Management System, applied to the areas of design, manufacturing, and commercialisation of special fertilizers, deficiency correctors, biostimulants, defense elicitors, and phytosanitary products for agriculture, is certified in accordance with the requirements of the UNE-EN-ISO 9001:2015 and UNE-EN-ISO 14001:2015 standards.
The EMAS system (Eco-Management and Audit Scheme) is the European Union’s Community Eco-Management and Audit Regulation. It is a tool developed by the EU that recognises organisations that have implemented an Environmental Management System (EMS) and have committed to continuous improvement, verified through independent audits.
IDI-20230713 - RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT OF A NEW BIOSTIMULANT BASED ON PLANT EXTRACTS AND NEW AMINO ACID MOLECULES THAT ENHANCE ITS ACTION AGAINST ABIOTIC STRESS – "ECOBIOEST"
The main objective of this project is to develop a new biostimulant product for agricultural use, significantly improving existing products. It is based on a hydrolysate of locally sourced alfalfa (km 0) combined with new molecules, aimed at enhancing plant vegetative growth and improving crop quality under abiotic stress conditions such as water stress, high temperatures, and/or salinity.
The biostimulant’s composition will be biodegradable and harmless to other plant or animal species, and it will not be toxic to humans. This will allow its application on large areas and for organic farming. The successful completion of the project will enable ALTINCO to offer a new biostimulant formulation made from sustainable raw materials, allowing its use on organic crops.
This project has been carried out in Mollerusa by ALTINCO. The total planned duration was 34 months, with a budget of €524,407.00, partially co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and the Centre for the Development of Industrial Technology (CDTI), with support from the Spanish Ministry of Science, Innovation, and Universities.
PROJET RECUPAIGUA
Initiative aimed at significantly reducing the water footprint of the company's productive activity.
ALTINCO reaffirms its commitment to sustainability and environmental protection through the development of the RECUPAIGUA project, an initiative designed to significantly reduce the water footprint of the company’s production activities.
The project’s main goal is to implement a high-efficiency vacuum water evaporation system, capable of reducing wastewater generation by up to 85%. This technology not only decreases the volume of water requiring treatment but also allows the recovered evaporated water to be reused internally—either as a raw material in product manufacturing or in cleaning processes.
With this implementation, ALTINCO advances toward its cross-cutting objective of addressing environmental challenges stemming from the climate emergency and aligning with the European Green Deal guidelines. The new system promotes more efficient and rational water resource management, which is both critical and scarce, while simultaneously improving the quality and treatment of wastewater.
Additionally, the applied technology concentrates contaminants present in the wastewater, facilitating their future recovery and valorization—a significant step toward a more circular and sustainable production model.
This project has been made possible “with the support of ACCIÓ”, which drives business initiatives focused on innovation, sustainability, and industrial competitiveness.
