Altinco Rootip Start:
how it helps the crop after transplanting

Transplanting is one of the most delicate moments for any crop. In those first weeks, the plant suffers stress, reduces its root activity and stops absorbing nutrients normally. Altinco Rootip® Start, CE Altinco Biostimulants biostimulant, is designed to reverse this process: it reactivates the root, improves nutrition, and helps the crop resume its growth.

What is Altinco Rootip Start and why it is key after transplanting

During transplanting, plants go through a period of physiological stress that temporarily halts their development. The root is affected, nutrient absorption decreases and metabolism slows down. In this critical phas, a root biostimulant like Altinco Rootip Start makes a difference.

Altinco Rootip Start belongs to the CE Altinco Biostimulants rangedeveloped by Altinco to offer natural and sustainable solutions that optimize plant physiology from the ground up. This biostimulant is designed to reactivate root activity from the very first moment after transplanting, promoting balanced growth even under stress conditions.

How Altinco Rootip Start works in the plant

The mode of action of Altinco Rootip Start optimizes root development during the first weeks of the crop.

Root stimulation with Altinco Rootip Start

  • Activates the growth of new lateral roots thanks to the increase of natural auxins (IAA, IPA, IBA).

  • Reactivates root metabolism, enhancing water and nutrient absorption.

  • Reduces transplant stress by limiting the accumulation of jasmonic and salicylic acids, which the plant produces in response to stress.

Also promotes a balanced biological environment in the rhizosphere: it increases the population of beneficial bacteria and improves root-soil interaction, key to more efficient nutrition.

Altinco Trial 2025: scientific validation of Altinco Rootip Start

The effectiveness of Altinco Rootip Start was validated in the Altinco Trial 2025, a study conducted under greenhouse conditions with pear tomato (Oria variety). The aim was to evaluate its effect on root activation and nutrient absorption during the first weeks after transplanting.

Trial methodology

  • Root application (10 L/ha).

  • Standard greenhouse growing conditions.

  • Comparison with untreated control.

Results of the trial with Altinco Rootip Start

The results were clear:

  • +12.34% root fresh weight, indicating a more hydrated and active root system.
  • +5.51% root surface and +4.28% branching, allowing better soil exploration.
  • +20.69% beneficial bacteria, indicating a more active microbiota.
  • 51% decrease in jasmonic acid and 11% in salicylic acid, demonstrating effective stress reduction.
  • Increase in absorption of essential micronutrients such as Ca, Mo, B, Zn, Cu and Mn.

These data confirm that Altinco Rootip Start promotes a more active, healthier and more efficient root, capable of absorbing more nutrients and sustaining balanced growth from the beginning of the crop.

Agronomic benefits of Altinco Rootip Start

The results of the trial and field experience show consistent benefits:

  • Faster recovery after transplanting.

  • Greater uniformity in vegetative growth.

  • Improved mineral nutrition, thanks to better absorption of N, K, Mg, Ca and micronutrients.

  • More living soil, with an active microbiota that enhances nutrient availability.

Altinco Rootip Start helps the plant focus on growing, not defending itself.

Altinco Rootip Start is part of the CE Altinco Biostimulants

The CE Altinco Biostimulants range is part of our commitment o sustainable agriculture, innovation, and regulatory compliance. These products are developed under Regulation (EU) 2019/1009, which requires proven agronomic efficacy, safety for human, plant and animal health, and no negative environmental effects.

Within this registered range, the CE Altinco Biostimulants provide an effective response to agronomic stress, regulatory pressure and performance and sustainability demands. Thanks to their physiological action, they activate the plant’s internal processes and promote balanced, stable and productive development, even in highly demanding scenarios.

In this context, Altinco Rootip Start stands out as the reference root biostimulant against transplant stress, scientifically validated by Altinco. It is part of the Root Biostimulants group, along with Altinco Rootip® Soil, Altinco Rootip® Ca, Altinco Rootip® MZ Prime and Altinco Rootip® Sal, all designed to act directly on the root under specific stress conditions.

Effective, safe and future-aligned solutions

The Altinco Trial 2025 is another step in our commitment to data-driven agriculture, knowledge, and respect for the environment. Validating each formulation in real conditions allows us to rigorously respond to field needs. On this journey, the CE Altinco Biostimulants represent a clear commitment to effective, safe, and EU-compliant solutions. At Altinco, we will continue promoting formulations that are born at the root and look ahead: more sustainable, more efficient and ready for the new agronomic challenges.

Less stress. More roots. Better nutrition.
