About MatHolding
MatHolding is a global, family-owned industrial group dedicated to the development of solutions and technology for the efficient and sustainable management of agriculture and water. The group’s businesses, which originated in 1935, are organized into two divisions: agriculture (which represents 60% of the business) and water (40%). Agricultural care includes plant health, biostimulation, and nutrition (crop life), with IQV (world leader in copper salts for agriculture, founded in 1935) and Altinco (pioneer in zero-residue biosolutions, founded in 1994); precision irrigation with Regaber (leader in the Iberian Peninsula since 1980); farm transformation and modernization with TerraNostra (since 2022); and agricultural digitization with VEGGA (platform created in 2022 in partnership with Sistemes Electrònics Progrés).
The water division includes Aquestia, focused on fluid transport and control; STF, in filtration; and Hidroglobal, dedicated to hydraulic projects.
The group has a team of more than 1,200 collaborators located in over 15 countries, operates 10 production plants, and provides services on five continents. In 2024, it recorded a total turnover of €406 million (17% more than the previous year) and an EBITDA of €56 million (40% more).
The company from Mollerussa manufactures biostimulant and biocontrol products and had a turnover of €8 million
Altinco is an agrochemical company based in Mollerussa, founded in 1994. It achieved a turnover of €8 million in 2024 (60% in Spain and 40% in over 20 countries) and has a team of 35 people. Altinco’s catalog consists mainly of biocontrol and biostimulant products, zero-residue, making them suitable for organic farming and aligned with new trends in sustainability and food quality.
- Biocontrol: green solutions against pests and diseases.
- Biostimulants: products that enhance the natural processes of plants to improve nutrient absorption and efficiency; tolerance to stress caused by external elements related to climate change; and improve crop quality and yield.
With the incorporation of Altinco, CERESTIA advances in its strategy to diversify its portfolio, which is currently mainly based on IQV’s copper salts. Altinco, which retains Joan Minguella as general manager, will lead the group’s growth in biological profile products within CERESTIA.
“In the history of MatHolding, we have combined organic growth with with strategic operations aligned with our long-term vision, and the incorporation of Altinco — the first since the creation of CERESTIA — is a strategic leap in our commitment to lead the transition toward greater sustainability in the agricultural sector. IQV’s copper salts are the origin of the group, and with Altinco we add to the plant health division a catalog of bio and zero-residue products that reinforce CERESTIA as the comprehensive solution to respond to current and future challenges faced by farmers. ”
Pau Relat, President of MatHolding
“Becoming part of MatHolding is a guarantee of continuity for the innovative project that Altinco has been since its creation 31 years ago. Both companies share values and objectives that will accelerate the commitment to innovation and sustainable business growth worldwide.”
Joan Minguella, General Manager of Altinco
